This dump truck tarp system is made of heavy duty rustproof aluminum, making it both lightweight and durable, with a shiny, chrome-like finish that gives your truck a polished look while preventing pitting. A front to back tarp system features an axle that mounts at the front of a dump bed, behind and/or above the cab. Four spiral springs are coiled around pivot pins that mount metal arms to each side of the dump body. The upper arms attach to a cross bar that goes through a pocket at the end of the tarp. To deploy the tarp system, the motor lets the tension of the springs carefully unroll the tarp, pulling it out and over the dump bed towards the back of the truck, functioning much like a mousetrap in slow motion, coming to rest at the back of the dump bed. The load will stay covered during transit. To uncover the load, the motor rotates the tarp axle in the opposite direction, thereby rolling the tarp back up and pulling the arms towards the front of the truck.
The tarp system mounts externally with simple bolt-on application and comes with everything you need for a quick and easy installation. It can be adjusted to fit most dump bed lengths from 8' to 24', making it one of the most versatile and economical dump truck tarp systems available.
This kit is designed to work on beds 96" to 102" wide. If you have a smaller truck, you can order a standard width kit which will reduce your shipping charges.
