Wind Deflectors run the length of your tarp axle and are designed to deflect wind from your tarp surface to reduce flapping and strain on the fabric. This is an optional part that is not necessary for your tarping system to function properly; it can be added at any time. However, if you live in an area with significant wind, or if your truck does a lot of higher-speed driving on primary roads, installing a wind deflector will extend the life of your tarps.
Our 3-Piece Aluminum Adjustable Wind Deflector covers all widths from 95” up to 103” without having to be cut down or permanently altered, making it quick and easy to install. Its telescoping design means that it can be unbolted, resized and remounted to another truck or trailer at any time.
The 3-Piece set includes (2) 47” outer sections and (1) 47” center section with all necessary mounting hardware.
Installation Instructions:
1. Measure the inside distance between the two Mounting Brackets. This will be the overall length of the wind deflector.
2. Slide the left and right outer sections into the center section until the overall length matches your measurement. Adjust the outer sections so the center section is centered on the assembly.
3. Clamp the three sections together to prevent movement, then use the four holes in the center section to mark and drill two 5/16” holes in each of the outer sections.
4. Secure the sections together using (4) 5/16” x 3/4“ bolts and (4) 5/16” nylock nuts.
5. Secure the assembly to the mounting brackets using (6) 1/4“ x 1-1/4“ self tapping screws.
Included Hardware:
(6) 1/4“ x 1-1/4“ Self Tapping Screws
(4) 5/16” x 3/4“ Bolts
(4) 5/16” Nylock Nuts
Wind Deflectors are also available in non-adjustable 95" and 103" sizes.
